Trade is an acquisition (buy) or disposal (sell) of an asset to/from an external party; whereas, a transfer is the withdrawal or deposit of an asset between accounts/wallets owned or controlled by the same party.

Examples

  • Trade - bought 1 Bitcoin for $10,000.

  • Transfer - sent 1 Bitcoin from my cold wallet to my cryptocurrency exchange account.
